Mark S. Eskander, MD

CEO, CMO

Mark Eskander is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spine. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University before completing residency at the University of Massachusetts followed by a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He has been treating Delawareans since 2012 and has performed over 3000 spine surgeries. In addition to providing care for his patients Dr. Eskander actively publishes on methods to improve patient care and outcomes. Over the years he’s been awarded speaking opportunities and research awards at national spine meetings including the Cervical Spine Research Society, North American Spine Society, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Eskander established Springhouse Analytics with the aim of creating data-driven digital solutions to improve surgical delivery and medical care. His ultimate goal is to make surgery safer and more effective for patients.


Scientific and Operations Team

Our scientific and operations team consists of clinical psychologists and accomplished scientists with more than 20 years of experience in research, teaching, and organizational leadership. Our team’s expertise spans data science, evidence synthesis, and the study of mental health, wellness, and functional limitations. They have published extensively, presented at national and international professional meetings, taught thousands of students, and secured millions of dollars in grant support from leading public and private organizations. Their research has been supported by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and Medtronic, with projects focused on brain injury assessment, assistive wearable technology, spine surgery, and professional development in orthopaedics. Our team directs scientific strategy and operations. Their goal is to translate rigorous evidence and complex healthcare data into practical solutions that improve medical decision-making, patient outcomes, and the delivery of care.


Sean Quinn, B.S.

Lead Developer

Sean Quinn is a full stack engineer at Springhouse Analytics, where he develops diagnostic tools to support safer, more effective medication management and clinical decision-making. Prior to this, he led the development of data-powered tools at Callaway Golf and Wayfair, focusing on manufacturing quality, sales insights, and operational efficiency. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Massachusetts Amherst and is completing an M.S. in Data Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.


Owen Balsis

Evidence Engineer

Owen Balsis is a founding member and Evidence Engineer at Springhouse Analytics, where he reviews scientific literature, analyzes clinical data, synthesizes research findings, and supports product development. Owen plays a key role in creating and maintaining the company’s structured evidence corpus, helping transform complex medical research into organized, usable knowledge. He also leads Springhouse Analytics’ summer internship program and manages the company’s website.


Military Consultant Team

Lt. Col. Denise Zona, PhD

Denise Zona is a NASA aerospace psychologist and interagency advisor. She earned her PhD at Washington University in St. Louis with an emphasis in clinical psychology. Her current work is centered within the Office of Safety and Mission Assurance. She's a member of our military consultant team, which helps tailor our products for use with soldiers and veterans.

James Carter-Haith, PhD

James Carter-Haith is a retired army combat veteran who works as a VA psychologist, specializing in pain, PTSD, anxiety, depression, anger, and transitional life issues. He earned his PhD from Texas A&M University with a special emphasis in counseling procedures. He's a member of our military consultant team, which helps to tailor our products for use with soldiers and veterans.

PFC Tyler Slate

Tyler Slate is a soldier with the 101st Airborne Division currently stationed at Fort Campbell KY. He is working as a combat medic/healthcare specialist. He's well-versed in first-line medical treatment, reviewing and documenting patient encounters, and collaborating with military medical teams within established healthcare protocols. He's a member of our military consultant team, which helps to tailor our products for use with soldiers and veterans.

1st Sgt. Martel Herrera

Martel Herrera is a security specialist with the US Army. He previously served as 1st Sgt. with the 95th Military Police Battalion. Before retiring with 100% service connection status, he served all over the world and is well versed in military communication and intervention protocols. He's a member of our military consultant team, which helps tailor our products for use with soldiers and veterans.
